Today, industrial buildings are use as stores but, since 5-10 years, a lot of them are not just as they are but destroyed to build a new one that consume less energy. But, can we say that the new building is “sustainable” considering the amount of waste created by the destruction of the old building ?
The objective of this project was to work on a viable circular system providing new ways of designing spaces. Creating a more local, collaborative and low-impact constructions. It could help brand to reinforce and/or redefine their image through a sustainable attitude.
We compared the impacts and costs between a demolition and a dismantlement. Dismantled and re-build something new with the old materials allows us to save materials, reuse them and create social projects with low environmental impact.
